Etana Insurance Company Limited (“Etana”) and The Hollard Insurance Company Limited (“Hollard”) have entered into an agreement (“Agreement”) pursuant to which all Etana insurance policies will be transferred to Hollard.

Dear VetProtect (Etana) policyholder

As you know your Medical Malpractice policy is underwritten by Etana insurance company, please find below a formal notice of their merger with Hollard Insurance.

ETANA / HOLLARD MERGER

Etana Insurance Company Limited (“Etana”) and The Hollard Insurance Company Limited (“Hollard”) have entered into an agreement (“Agreement”) pursuant to which all Etana insurance policies will be transferred to Hollard.

After your policy is transferred to Hollard, Hollard will be your insurer. Hollard will be responsible for the payment of any claims you may have. You must continue paying your premiums the same way as you always did. There will be no changes in policy documentation or pricing for at least sixty days from the date upon which the Proposed Transaction becomes effective. The way your claims will be dealt with and the administration of your policy will also not change in any way.

As required in terms of the Short-term Insurance Act, copies of documents relating to the transaction as required by the Registrar of Short-term Insurance (“Registrar”), shall be available for inspection for a period of fifteen days commencing on Tuesday, 12 November 2013. Should you which to inspect these documents you can do so, at the head office of Etana or Hollard in Johannesburg at 22 Oxford Road, Parktown.
The Registrar will consider the transfer on Thursday, 12 December 2013 at Riverwalk Office Park, Block B, No.41 Matroosberg Road, Ashley Gardens, Ext 6, Pretoria at 10:00am, or as soon thereafter as the application may be heard for approval of the transfer.

A formal notification of the proposed transfer will appear in the Government Gazette on Friday 08 November 2013 and details will thereafter be published in newspapers nationwide.
